Hello My Name Is...
Rodriguez, Ph.D., Eddie
Thank you for visiting our school website. I am Dr. Eddie Muzquiz Rodriguez and I am the principal of the Harlandale STEM Early College High School--Alamo Colleges at Palo Alto College. I have been the principal of the school since its inception in 2013-2014.
I began my career in education as a substitute teacher, then became a middle school science teacher; continued on to becoming a high school science teacher; then a Science Curriculum Specialist at Central Office; and eventually became an administrator. I have a BS in biology with a minor in chemistry from St. Mary's University; a Master's in Education with emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction (K-12 Integrated Science) from Our Lady of the Lake University; and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M-College Station in Educational Administration.
In 2008, I received a Fulbright Scholarship from the United States State Department to travel to Mexico City, where I spent my summer learning and sharing ideas regarding both our and their educational system.
I have not only worked in the public school system here in San Antonio, but as a private consultant I have also trained teachers all across the United States, primarily in Texas, and in Mexico City for the Secretaria de Educacion Publica (Secretary of Education). In the evenings, once a week, I teach a Secondary Science Methods course at Texas A&M-San Antonio and I am also on the Edgewood ISD School Board.
I am very happy to work with a wonderful team of professionals here at Harlandale ISD and at Palo Alto College that always have the students' best interests in mind. We work hard to ensure that all of our students are successful and aim to provide our students all of the opportunities and experiences needed to achieve this goal through a high quality and rigorous education. If there is anything that we can do to help you or answer any of your questions, please do not hesitate to let us know.
